2006: The Karen strain of marine phytoplankton was discovered as a human source of nutrition.


2007: A market test in the Coquitlam, BC area proves without a doubt the potential of the project.


2008: A relocation to Sackville, New Brunswick to work on the lengthy regulatory process to license this new discovery


2009: The planning of the upgrading of the growing facility to the highest level of food safety standards starts.


2010: A restaurant named Pickles is opened in Sackville to bridge the gap for the copious amount of hours needed to deal with the tests needed to license the product.


2011: Growing facility moves towards HAACP and ISO 22.000 safety standards


2012: In-Vitro tests performed on the Karen strain with Colon Cancer and Breast Cancer to solidify insights of possible active ingredients.


2012: Market test performed on University Students on the anecdotal evidence reported Karen to relieve hangovers.


2012: Market test performed on University Students on the ability to help with acne.


2013: Next in our story: Allergy Tests, Long Term Stability Tests, Safety Tests all performed to add to the license applications. Massive upgrading of the growing facility approved and started.


2013: Collaboration beginning to start with multiple universities on developing a Phytoplankton extract for the upcoming Karen Dermo Cosmetic Lotion – a major win in our story!


2014: In house lab at Fitoplancton Marino was built and the acquisition of a team of scientists and researchers.


2015: The Karen brand was developed and built, the Pickles restaurant closed to make way for the launch. Health Canada approves NPN license for Karen Marine Phytoplankton.


2016: Karen Phytoplankton enters the market by giving Pharmacists product trials and proving its efficacy anecdotally. London Drugs, Rexall, PharmaChoice, Pharmasave, The Medicine Shoppe take notice and get behind The Karen Project.


2016: New office is built on York Street in Sackville. Hundreds of amazing testimonials pour into the Blugenics office. Tablet license approved by Health Canada. Lotions enter Canada and ready for distribution.
